This unique, fun and special event is one I look forward to every year!
Will you join me?
Let’s celebrate YOU, momma. I insist.
There are several evenings available, event last minute. We will grab that gorgeous evening light near sunset, (7-9pm) and just have a casual frolic. No stress, lots of fun.
If you have little ones and bedtime to consider, or work/evening obligations, just let me know.
As mothers, we all know how much work we do, and how often it goes unappreciated. We cook, clean, shop, bathe, brush, negotiate, govern, repair, wipe, pack, unpack, launder, cheer, console, worry, fuss, filter, make, bake, like, love…. and if there’s five minutes left at the end of the day, we might get around to brushing our teeth and perhaps some self-care. Uff dah!
Blooms are best around late June, into July…. and I have added some extra “glitter” as well. Be as casual or fancy as you want to be. GIVE this gift to yourself and your children.
Think pretty soft yellow sundress, or that gorgeous coral bridesmaid dress she promised you would wear again. A long bright airy cotton dress for you, khaki shorts and a tiny bow tie for your little boy. Momma & daughters in floor length flowy tutus with flower wreaths or a simple skirt and tee because that says “you” and that is what makes you feel pretty. Pretty blooms, sunset and smiles with the ones you love. This is YOUR TIME!
- Booking is simple and can be done quickly online.
- I’m including all kinds of ideas and options for styling below, or simply elbow someone and say “I want the whole thing planned for me.” We’ll line up a massage, facial, hair & make up… and my talented stylists will give you a few gorgeous choices for outfits. I’ll even coordinate your children’s outfits, too.
- I’m making a basic package very affordable. These are important images, and I want you and your children to have them. (If I could work for free, I would. I truly believe in the need for these images. ) The session (including some prints or digital files) is only $150. There is no minimum purchase, and as with any of my sessions, I’m willing to help you from start to finish. Whether you’re doing a handful of gift prints or we create a stunning wall gallery, you won’t need to navigate this solo. Let me remind you that I LOVE referrals, and give you a $25 Gift Card to spend with Tracie Bea Photographie for each family that books with me. You’re welcome to share this post with your friends. You can even schedule your times with someone else, and grab some shots of your whole group. You’ve watched your bestie’s kids grow up right by your own – let’s capture that! When’s the last time you took a nice photo with your own mother? Let’s create a multi-generational portrait to show them what your family tree looks like!
Shopping & Style Guide:
Here are some resources for shopping and styling:
Target – Seriously? Jumpers. If you can pull one off, do it. Forgiving wrap-dress? Yes please.
Opitz – Optiz Outlet has been around for a long time, but they’ve really been up’ing their game lately. Their Minnetonka store is huge! With a high end designer section, a great Instagram gallery, and tons of items including racks and racks of dresses…. this is a pretty sure bet. Be SURE to check out the back 70% off section, especially as they clearance out prom dresses. Since you’re going to be IN the wildflowers (and weeds) the dress doesn’t have to be perfect. We can even pin/clamp in the back or whatever, to give more flexibility with sizes and styles.
Other: I have a few things on hand, including matching blush dresses for little girls, a couple cream-colored lace dresses, the multi-colored dress shown in some of the sample wildflower photos (pretty much a one size fits all thing) plus thrift stores like Hopkins & Chanhassen’s Goodwills. Spring cleaning might be forever in your favor. Bethesda at Westwind might have some, likely more casual sundresses and hats. I would avoid Rent the Runway for this round, or anything too expensive, out of fear they would get snagged or torn from the grasses. Check out Etsy for pretty flower crowns, or DIY. Ask friends for bridesmaid dresses, check Ebay & Alibaba (watch shipping times!) and there are tons on Amazon (again, watch shipping times if they are coming from China; and read reviews, often the sizes are 2-3 times smaller than US sizes, and rarely quite as lovely as shown in photos) Some frock links I’ve saved: Dress 1 Dress 2 Dress 3 Dress 4 and Tulle Skirt 1 And of course, the many lovely shops on my little Water Street in Excelsior !
A couple more tips: Don’t worry about fancy shoes. Parking will be right by the field, but you’ll be walking through some weeds, grasses, clover and blooms. The ground may be soft. I will have a chair or two on set, so you can carry out some pretty heels if you want.
As with any of my special events, the fee is non-refundable, but is transferable. However, in the event the field does not bloom as planned, or we deal with inclement weather and cannot reschedule, your fee will be refunded or applied to a future session, which ever you would like.
This will be a very special event! Put aside the fears of looking perfect, and remember your children love you just the way you are. You will look back on this as a gift. I promise.
ps – Dad wants to tag along for a few? Of course. This is what you want to make of it, and there are no rules or exclusions. (only an excuse for you to BE in the photo for once! )
