GUESS WHO NOW HAS LAKE MINNETONKA’S FAMOUS BLUE TIN BARN DOOR FROM BAKER ELECTRIC? THIS GAL!
This is very very exciting.
For years, myself and dozens of other west metro photographers have taken families, seniors, kids and pups to a worn & tired area of downtown Excelsior, MN just past the Mill area and Excelsior Library.
“Stand there and smile.” We say. And we click. And we play with the light, and we watch out for the bikers, and sometimes, if we’re lucky, we get to watch the buff folks at the CrossFit fitness club haul tractor tires around the parking lot.
I have YEARS of family photos on that blue tin barn door.
So when I heard they were about to pave paradise and put up a parking lot, I started bugging people for that grey blue door. And I bugged, and asked, and voicemailed and messaged. Tenacity is my middle name, in case you didn’t know.
And then one day I saw the cranes and bulldozers, so I dusted off my charming flirty nature and went to talk to the boys knocking down my “office.” Two days and a couple cases of beer later I not only talked the boys into saving it for me, but also my husband into grabbing a trailer and helping me move it, but we lifted the 9000lb beast ourselves. We hauled that old girl to my new hive and with a little framing and safety measures, it’s once again back in the business of being a backdrop.
And I, Tracie Bea, do solemnly swear, this is the last time I make my husband help me go on a wild goose chase for a photography prop.
